Keep in mind that this is a budget buy. For the price it’s ok, but nothing to write home about.

I purchased this for my son, who’s just moved into a cot bed from a cot, as I thought with the nights getting colder he’d need a little more warmth. I’m always a little concerned about whether he’s likely to cope with much change in his bedtime essentials, so I don’t tend to spend a fortune on his bedding in case it doesn’t work for him. At £9.71 plus free delivery, I thought this one was worth a go, and the fact that it included a pillow was a bit of a bonus.

Sadly, the duvet wasn’t all that great. I guess you get what you pay for, but I was a little disappointed that for the 7.5 tog rating, it wasn’t all that cosy for my son, and I still had to put a top blanket on. My house is pretty cold though, so maybe I didn’t take that into account.  It was quite soft though, and inside the duvet cover, it looked a good size for his cot bed.

The pillow, however, was a different story. After two nights it lost all support and was pretty useless, so I’ve bought another one that suits him better.

With the top blanket over the duvet it does work well though and my son has slept pretty well since we got it. He says he is cosy, and I suppose, considering it’s machine washable, which is a must for small (not-quite potty trained) kids, it’s a pretty reasonable duvet.

If you’re after a bargain buy for your child’s cot bed, then this one is a good price, but if you’re looking for something with a bit more quality, then it might be worth splashing a bit more cash and looking elsewhere.
