Final Thoughts

A few question marks over this duvet! More of a feather duvet than a feather and down blend.

THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN REPLACED BY THE John Lewis & Partners Natural Duck Feather and Down Duvet, 13.5 Tog SAME PRICE, SAME WORTH BUT BETTER QUALITY!

I was excited about receiving this 13.5 tog duvet. A duck feather and down blend sounded ideal – the soft and cosiness of the feather yet the durability and warmth of down clusters. However, to be honest, this duvet didn’t live up to my expectations.

It’s more of a feather duvet than a blend between the two and to be fair it does say in the product specifications that this duvet is 80 percent feather and 20 percent down. Even so, I think the name is slightly deceiving, as not everyone bothers to read all of the particulars!

Nevertheless, for me, there are no qualities of a down duvet whatsoever. The duvet doesn’t seem to have the resilience and durability I was hoping for. And, it’s gone flat already! If you want a feather duvet, this is a good quality product, but that’s not what I was looking for.

The only other slight criticism I would have of this duvet is that it was initially quite noisy! When I first put the duvet on the bed it made quite a bit of rustling. This has died down now after a couple of weeks so it’s not really an issue, but worth mentioning if, like me, you’re a light sleeper.

The price is reasonable and the duvet does provide a good level of warmth. But it’s failed to live up to my expectations. If you want the qualities of a feather duvet you’ll probably be more than satisfied.  This duvet comes with a generous 5 year guarantee and is available in various sizes: single, double, king and super king.  The Classic feather and down duvet from John Lewis is also available in 10.5 tog and an All Seasons version.
