The first thing I noticed about the Kallysleep Anxiety Blanket is that it lives up to its billing as “Weighted”. The product feels heavy both inside and outside of its packaging.  It must have cost a fortune to post!

It’s certainly not a blanket that you can just throw up in the air and watch land neatly on the bed. It needs to be unrolled and placed in position, ready for you to climb in.

The concept behind the blanket is that it is evenly weighted throughout, by using fibre glass beads in quilted pockets, and therefore provides equal comfort and a feeling of being “hugged” across your body. Whilst I didn’t quite experience the hug feeling, the blanket is very comfortable. The material is soft and yet the downwards pressure provided by the extra weight is pleasant.

Admittedly, this is probably an ideal blanket for me personally as I’m a bit of a kicker and a wriggler and struggle to get comfortable. Once I was cocooned in the Kallysleep blanket I had an uneventful night without waking up regularly or having to retrieve the duvet from the floor. The blanket essentially tucked me in for a good night’s sleep and didn’t allow me to fight with it as I have done with countless blankets and duvets over the years!  It is also hypoallergenic which is key for me as I suffer from allergies.  The quilted and breathable cotton cover is made of anti-allergy treated fibres protecting against bacteria.

As the Kally Sleep Weighted Anxiety Blanket was a gift, I didn’t know how much it retailed at before I used it. Given the quality of the product, I assumed that it would be quite pricey and was pleasantly surprised to find out the cost. It’s definitely value for money in my opinion.

At the time of review, the anxiety blanket was reduced from £79.99 to £64.99.

I have only marked the Kally Sleep down slightly on its ease of care, as although it is machine washable (which I haven’t tried yet), it cannot be tumble dried and make take a while to air dry given it’s weight.  This is a minor point though and quite similar to laundering instructions for most duvets. The blanket is available in 3 different colours: grey, white and blue.
