M&S Supremely Washable Duvet review
High quality duvet, with the perfect amount of warmth. A few questions regarding the finishing touches.
Too hot…too cold… too hot… too cold…that pretty much sums up the critique I’ve had on the duvets I’ve purchased so far. I’ve been trying to track down a quality 7.5 tog duvet for quite a while now. Trust me, its no easy challenge! I always find that 4.5 tog duvets are just too light and not warm enough, but then I feel like I am suffocating in a 10.5-tog duvet – especially during the summer and even well into autumn this year!
I was delighted when I found this duvet on the Marks & Spencer website. Admittedly, it was sold out when I first stumbled across it, so I had to wait a few weeks for it to come back in stock but it was definitely worth the wait. This duvet provides the perfect amount of warmth. It’s a nice weight as well – it’s comfortable and you really can get snuggled into it, but it’s not too heavy.
I usually buy natural duvets. So I was a little bit worried since this one has a polyester Dacron filling. However I took the risk because I buy a lot of home goods from M&S and to be honest the 7.5 tog sold it to me. I needn’t of worried. This duvet has the luxurious feeling you look for when buying a natural duvet, so I really didn’t miss this aspect.
Aside from having to wait for the product, the only other thing I will say is that the finishing touches aren’t what I have come to expect from M&S. The duvet has only been partly sewn, instead of being sewn the entire way round. As of yet, nothing has fallen apart, but I haven’t had the product for long so this is something that concerns me slightly.
On the whole, I’d certainly recommend this duvet, especially if warmth is your main concern.
