Silentnight is generally a brand that you associate with good quality duvets, and having seen the duvet at a really reasonable price, it just wasn’t worth passing up!  We bought the double, but it does come in a range of sizes, and the tog is just right for the winter months.

This duvet feels like a quality buy, so I was really pleased when I opened it up. It’s made from microfibre, which is a godsend in our house, as it means it washes better, and with my clumsiness, and my husbands penchant for eating toast in bed of a weekend, it’s pretty much perfect for us. I was a little worried about the tog being too low for a winter duvet, but I figured if I needed an extra blanket I could just pile one on at will. However, despite the fact that the duvet felt pretty light on top of us, it didn’t let us down on the warmth; in fact, I’m really glad we didn’t go for a higher tog.

The slight downside to the duvet though, is that it does take a bit of “fluffing’ to get the air into it. When it arrived it was pretty much flat as a pancake, but after a bit of effort it fluffed up lovely, It was also the same after I washed it, but it didn’t take long to sort out.

On the whole, it’s a good buy, especially for the price, and since it washes well, I may invest in some of these in a single for the kids.
