One of the best duvets around!
This really is something special and one of my favourite duvets of all time. Light and fluffy like a cloud yet still cosy and warm. This duvet feels so luxurious. I was not at all surprised to see it was listed as The Independent’s Best Winter Duvet in 2017. At £170 for a single it is pricey but I think it is worth the investment for a great night’s sleep.
As well as feeling delicate and luxurious, it is well made and should last a long time. It comes with a 10 year guarantee, so I think The White Company feel pretty confident it will too. The duvet is filled with 80% Hungarian goose down and 20% goose feathers and is covered with a neat, well stitched stripy white cotton cover with attractive beading. The soft filling is held in place by an internal box construction ensuring that it is even and leaves no cold patches.
The 10.5 tog has been warm enough for me this winter but the great thing about this and all of The White Company duvets is that they come with buttons to attach to another duvet if you like to be extra toasty. The Hungarian Goose Down duvet comes in 4.5, 10.5 and 13.5 togs.
The White Company ensure that all their duvets are tested in line with European Standards and this duvet has the NOMITE mark confirming that it is appropriate for dust mite allergy sufferers. They also source all their down and feather fill from suppliers who conform with high standards of animal welfare ensuring that the geese are not live plucked and that the material is a by-product of the food industry.
Although, it says this duvet is machine washable and even suitable for the tumble dryer, it is far too special to me and I will be getting it professionally laundered!!
