10.5 tog duvets are a good bet as a duvet for most of the year.  The most common duvet tog you’ll find is the 10.5 tog duvet – these should be warm enough all year-round if you’ve got a centrally heated house. If it gets a bit cold in the chilliest winter months, you can always throw a blanket over the end of the bed. Consider what filling you want as this will affect how lightweight or heavy your 10.5 tog duvet is.

Too warm for summer though,  if you get hot in bed or suffer from night sweats you’re better off choosing a lower tog rating.    Little children and toddlers are likely to find 10.5 tog duvets too warm unless they have a very cool room, so choose a 4.5 tog duvet or a 7 tog duvet for kids, plus a pair of warm PJs in the winter rather than the added hassle of more bedding.
