We entertain a lot over the winter break, so I bought 15 tog duvet this in advance, as our house can get pretty nippy at night. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a duvet that was only going to be used a handful of times a year, so I went for this one, which, at £13.44, was a bit of a steal. It arrived quickly, which was a good job, as I had some unexpected guests at the weekend, so the duvet was put to immediate use.

To be honest, when I took it out of the package, I could tell it was a budget duvet, as the material wasn’t that pleasant to the touch and the finish was messy, but tucked inside the duvet cover, you’d never have known otherwise.  It’s pretty bouncy, and felt quite thick for a budget buy too. It was fairly light in weight though so I did wonder whether our guests would be warm enough. When they came down to breakfast the following morning, they did mention that the house seemed really warm, so no complaints about the duvet not doing its job. However, I did notice that some of the fraying ends of the duvet had caught in the press studs of the duvet cover, and ripped the duvet a little at one end, so it’s best to check the (seemingly unfinished) edges don’t get caught.

All in all, if you’re after a guest bed duvet, or one that won’t get used an awful lot, for less than £15 it’s a pretty good buy, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t use it on my own bed.
